I had the pleasure of being a part of the OVERhang team when the gym first opened. OVERhang has become a major part of the Prince George community over the last few years. Hundreds of people came out to the grand opening to check out what this cool new place was. Curious about a new fitness avenue and unique way to get fit and meet new people the Gym has thrived with new clients of all experiences.
OVERhang has provided the community with a place that is safe and exciting for all different age groups. As soon as you come to the front desk you will meet staff who are excited to have you there. You can feel comfortable asking them all sorts of questions about climbing, bouldering, and route setting. Nothing is ever a dumb question and you will never be made to feel like it is. Speaking from experience, I am NOT a climber, but I love the atmosphere and the encouragement I receive when I give it a go up the walls. You can feel safe to try a new exciting approach to fitness with the trained and knowledgeable staff on the floor and have fun at the same time.

Owner and creator of OVERhang is Lauren Phillips. Lauren is passionate about her community and encourages others to be as well. She is an active part of Prince George Search and Rescue, Tourism PG, Rescue Canada and other groups. Lauren is more than just the owner of a company who lets her staff do all the work, she is involved in all aspects of the gym. If you are feeling unsure of your self and fearful about climbing or other outdoor activities, Lauren is more than willing to encourage you and support you. Many times I have felt unsure of my abilities and Lauren and the OVERhang team have been right there with suggestions and helpful advice and encouragement.
