Game Quest

You can tell a lot about a person by the game system they prefer. For example, I absolutely love N64 and Sega Genesis making me a product of the 90's. Whether you prefer the old school gaming systems or the newest ones, you can usually find them at Game Quest. Drop in to race your friends down rainbow road or beat them in a game of Pinball.

Game quest has been a part of the Prince George community since 2013. Since opening, Game Quest has been nominated for several awards including Peoples Choice for Small Business BC where they have placed top 5 three years in a row. They also took home the title of Micro Business of the Year from the Chamber of Commerce.

You do not need to be an experienced gamer to enjoy this business. The store prides itself on being as inviting as possible to everyone. The staff are knowledgeable and trained on every system and ready to explain and teach others as well. I am not a gamer and honestly know practically nothing about them, however, the staff has always been able to direct me in the right direction to find things for my two kids.

Game Quest offers more than just electronic gaming systems, they also run board game nights, regular events and birthday parties. You can purchase different items from the retail part of the shop including video games, systems, board games, trading cards, roll playing games, and other items. Need a little extra cash? Bring in your unwanted gaming items to trade towards stuff you actually want. It is also the only game store in Northern BC that deals in video games.

There are several great things about this local business. Game Quest is a free and safe place for you to just hang out, meet new people, chat with staff or others, learn new ideas and games, and attend events. Staff and owners are open to new event ideas and stock ideas.

Game Quest has also participated in several local charities around town. Every year the store focuses on a new charity to support in their gaming events. Over $10,000 has been raised in the past 3 years for charities including, Child Development Center, Costumes for a Cause and Friends of Children. The store likes to host competitive game tournaments to help raise this money. One of these events is Power Up Prince George which you can find more about on the Game Quest Facebook page. Game Quest has even been known to attend the family orientated Cougars games for some free arcade play and Northern Fan Con.

Looking for a new birthday party idea? Game Quest will cater to you and your needs. Host a party at the store outside of open hours (or during) and have a stress free party. There are tables for food and drinks and cake. Play arcade games and video games and let the kids do their thing while you sit back and chat with staff or read a book!

Not only has Game Quest added a fun and exciting new addition to Prince George, it has also been vital in changing the way Prince George bylaws work. With over 1200 signatures, and a city hall room packed full with supporters, Game Quest Owner Kelsy Polnik was instrumental in changing the way a city bylaw handled the selling and purchasing of used games and systems.

Head on over to 4158 Cowart Rd and show your support for this incredible local business. Bring your children with you, drop off your teenagers or indulge in a little guilty gaming pleasure yourself!
